Inspired by Thomas Edison’s revolutionary lighting experiments, the XL Collection is physically and philosophically anchored by a modern Edison lightbulb. Together with semifinished industrial components, including a transparent Borosilicate blown glass base, it recalls the still-existent Edison Laboratories, where the infamous inventor developed devices that altered the world’s course. The lamp’s signature visible, extendable black PVC cord infuses the fixed objects with a sense of movement, while the XL and XXL’s respective designs honor the groundbreaking bulb in trademark ways.
